Short title: Elliot v Willis. Documents exhibited in court:

  • Residence permit and medical clearance: Amsterdam (1759). In Latin.
  • Memoranda and account books, one with description in Dutch of a journey from Amsterdam to Antwerp (1759-1791).
  • Business memoranda and correspondence, some relating to the diamond trade: London, Harwich, Hanover, Ostend etc (1768-1796). Some in German, Dutch and French.
  • Miscellaneous business accounts and receipts: London (1769-1781). Some in German.
  • Notarial instruments: Hanne, Celle, Germany (1769). In German and Latin.
  • Notebook of personal expenditure, with some entries in Yiddish (1778-1782).
  • Recipe for 'Quaking Pudding' (c 1780).
  • Certifications of ships' cargoes: Venice (1781).
  • Diamond correspondence (1781).
  • Valuation of a parcel of diamonds: Lucknow, India (1782).
  • Captain's report on the surrender of the East Indiaman Blanford to the French: Trincomalee, [Dutch] Ceylon (1783).
  • Receipt book (1784-1785).
  • Instrument of protest relating to the ship Olive Branch: Philadelphia, Penn, USA (1785).
  • English translation of will of Anna Christina Nieuwenhuys. Transferred to EXT 9/69. (1786).
  • Copy instrument of protest for the barquentine Falmouth: London (1787).
  • Jewellery auction catalogue (1788).
