Joan [dowager] queen of Castile and Leon, countess of Ponthieu, Montreuil, and Aumale, wife of John de Nesle-Falvi (Neele) count of Ponthieu etc. [widow of Fernando III of Castile and Leon, mother of Eleanor wife of Edward I]: Will, witnessed by William [de Macon] bishop of Amiens [the bishop, 'whoever he be' is one of the executors] on Tuesday next after the feast of St. Barnabas the Apostle, 1279. Atttached to the will are:- (1) a codicil, dated 5 January 1278, sealed with the seal of the bishop of Amiens. (2) a deed of B. [Bernard d'Abbeville] bishop of Amiens [until 1278] dated 2nd Sunday after Easter, 1277, undertaking the execution of the will.
