In 1976 the Royal Signals and Radar Establishment (RSRE) was formed by the amalgamation of the Royal Radar Establishment (RRE), the Signals Research and Development Establishment, and the Services Electronics Research Laboratory.
In 1991, RSRE was incorporated into the new Defence Research Agency.
