Description

Short title: Ernle v Stanney.

Plaintiffs: Susan Ernle widow of Richard Ernle the younger of Cakeham, Sussex, John Cooke gent of West Burton, Edmund Southcott surgeon of Chichester, and Elizabeth Rishton, one of the daughters of Robert Rishton gent, deceased, the first husband of the said Susan.

Defendants: Bridget Stanney, widow of Richard Stanney esq, deceased (and daughter of Richard Ernle the elder), her daughters Katherine Stanney, Bridget Stanney the younger, Edward Higgons and Elizabeth [Stanney] his wife, and Henry Graye yeoman.

Subject: concerning the estate of Richard Ernle the elder esq of Cakeham, deceased (will November 1607), and his farm of Cakeham and the estate of Riichard Ernle the younger esq of Cakeham, deceased without issue (will February 1632).
