Short title: Eastoft v Moysier.
Plaintiffs: Thomas Eastofte esq of Eastoft, Yorkshire, and Thomas Boynton gent of Rocliff [Roecliffe].
Defendants: Thomas Moysier esq of Appleton, cousin and next heir of Robert Stockdale.
Subject: concerning the manor of Lockington, called the Hallgarth manor, with lands in Lockington, Beverley, Lund and Sculcoates, which Robert Stockdale esq of Lockington, by his indenture 7 June 1594, is said to have conveyed to the use of himself and his heirs male of his body, with remainder to John Eastofte, deceased, late father of the plaintiff Thomas Eastofte, with remainder to the said Thomas Eastofte and his heirs. Robert Stockdale having died without issue, John Eastofte became seised, and made a lease 19 March 13 1638 to the plaintiff, his son, for eleven years. At the death of John Eastofte, the said Thomas Eastofte became seised about two years since, and made a lease 11 June 1639 to Thomas Boynton, esq. However, Thomas Moysier alleged that there was no consideration for Stockdale's conveyance, for that Robert Stockdale on 2 June 1594, was declared a lunatic, and was cozened of part of his estate.
Document type: Bill (13 July 1641) and answer (8 November 1641).
