They comprise orders etc. from the Board of Customs to the collector 1689 to 1914; and to the searcher, 1813 to 1826, with indexes, 1704 to 1856; letter books, collector to board, 1746 to 1918; general letter books, 1843 to 1916, mainly outward correspondence; entry books of out letters, Customs Office, Penarth, 1860 to 1886; import accounts, 1831 to 1890; and wreck depositions, 1861 to 1870. Miscellaneous records, mainly relating to staff, 1733 to 1920, also appear.
