These ledgers of Irish imports and exports appear under the several countries importing or exporting and give the total values of the imports and exports in each year together with their mean value during the year. Until the year 1819 the returns of each Irish port are separately stated. From that year onwards the returns are given in somewhat different form, showing, under the countries of import or export as before, the official value of the goods, the gross amount of the duties received together with the bounties, drawbacks, etc., repaid thereon, and whether the goods were carried in British or foreign ships.
