Plaintiffs: Adriean Lewes of Dunster, tailor and Grace Lewes his wife, late the wife of Robert Hammon alias Robert Toose of Dunster, tailor.
Defendants: Edward Tirrell yeoman, Robert Poore yeoman Peter Meade, clerk to George Luttrell, esq, JP, Lewis Sweetinge of Stogumber, clothier, Richard Sulley, bailiff of the hundred of Williton and Freemanners, John Moore of Stogumber, fuller, John Taylour, and others.
Subject: Accusation of witchcraft, arrest without warrant at Dunster and imprisonment of a charge of intending to desert their children, extortion, forcible entry and arrest at Stogumber on an attachment issued without warrant, undervaluation and embezzlement of goods, accusation of contempt towards local justices, torture by means of the stocks, refusal of bail, etc.
