Description

Indenture between John earl of Lancaster and Richmond on one side and Robert de la Mare and John de Bukland, knights, John Charnelles, clerk, and John de Newmarche, executors and administrators, on the other, concerning the will of Henry duke of Lancaster under which lands at present enfeoffed to the exectors and others will pass to John and Blanche his consort once the duke's debts have been paid and his wishes executed. It is agreed that two men will monitor on John's behalf the accounts of the duke's officers for the lands, and the profits of the executors and other feoffees. The executors will enfeoff John of the honor of Tutbury and the site of the castle and park of Bolingbroke and knights fees and advowsons in Lincolnshire. However, the lady de Walkington will have 100 of land in Brassington, Matlock and Hartington, and the executors will temporarily enjoy all profits from Bolingbroke (except those parts specified above) and all other lands with which the duke enfeoffed the bishop of Lincoln, the earl of Arundel and others. The earl's officers will assist in levying the debets due to the executors: Lincs. Derb.
