Notification by R (Robert) abbot of St Mary's, York, and R (Richard) abbot of Selby that, having examined a dispute between the prior and convent of La Charite-sur-Loire (Karitate) and R (Roger) de Lasci, lord of Pontefract, concerning the institution and destitution of the prior of Pontefract, as instructed by letters from Pope Innocent III, they have found, as Roger's proctor claimed, that a prior should not be appointed or removed from office without Roger's assent and should not be make payments to La Charite beyond the specified ones which it is in Roger's power to revoke.
