An indenture between Godfrey Foliambe, Robert de Swylyngtoun, Simon de Symeon and William Fynchedoun on one part and Thomas de Haselden on the other. Godfrey etc have been assigned the manors and lordship of Cowick (Cawyk) and Snaith by the Queen, who leased them from John duke of Lancaster and Blanche his wife. Henry duke of Lancaster, Blanche's father, had granted his groom (valet) Thomas de Haselden the bailwick of the vill of Snaith with the lordship of those parts, the windmill and other profits for them of life, for an annual rent of £15. These premises are within the lordship held by Godfrey etc as above. Godfrey etc now confirm this grant to Thomas during the life of the Queen, and pardon him £7 13s. 8d. of the rent. However, if John del Halle dies, he will pay them the full £15; should the Queen die, he will pay the £15 to duke John and Blanche: Yorks
