Kesselring (List and Index Society, Special Series 57, 2018): [770] Perne, dean of Ely, plaintiff; Webb and Ashwell, two of a jury, who after they were summoned to appear and before the trial of the replevin at the request of the defendant in the action repaired to the land in question and there were informed of the names of the bounds of the same lands out of certain rolls or writings which the plaintiff said were wrong names, and after they had received their evidence at the bar, and were departed, and before their verdict, they did without the judges or the defendant’s consent, receiving a piece of the plot of the same ground, for which £40 fine apiece and committed.
