Description

Short Title: Acklam v Wharton.

[Cause code: SCEL-14882].

Documents: interrogatories, depositions.

Plaintiffs: William Acclam yeoman of Risby.

Defendants: Hugh Lickbarrowe labourer, servant to Michael Wharton [of Beverley Park].

County: Yorkshire (East Riding).

Subject: Wharton, suing Ralph Ellerker and the plaintiff in the Star Chamber, caused Lickbarrow to serve the writ of subpena on the plaintiff and then to falsely swear in the Star Chamber that Acclam had assaulted him and Thomas Sutton, another of Wharton's servants serving the writ, grievously wounding Sutton.
