Description

Short Title: Anthony v Lewis.

[Cause code: SCEL-10837].

Plaintiffs: Derrick Anthony citizen and goldsmith of London and Margaret his wife, William Harrison.

Defendants: Clement Lewis of Ely, Francis Pygott of Ely, Samuel Allchan of Ely,Thomas Pygott of Ely, Michael Pyggott of Ely, Thomas Lewis son of Clement Lewis; deponents.

County: Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire.

Subject: the unlawful and ungodly marriage of the 13 year old Anne Rudstone who was boarding with Clement and Dorothy Lewis of Earl Barton, to Thomas Lewis their younger son, also underage; Anne was one of the three stepdaughters of William Harrison and nieces of Margaret Anthony, the girls being coheirs of their father Thomas Rudstone gent of Ely, deceased; [some indication of sexual abuse by one Roger Torrell esq].
