Subject: sedition; on 1 May 1593, Coale said that if the apprentices made a stir, he knew 400 or 500 strangers who would set the city of London on fire, so that men would see their wives and children burn before their faces; Coale claimed that as the apprentices threatened to kill the strangers, he thought it better if the strangers burned themsleves in their own houses, and said this in the Angel [inn] in Aldersgate Street.
