Subject: Forcible rescue of William Maurice from Morris Griffith, who had arrested him upon a writ from the court of Common Pleas; riotously leading his servants and continuing to sit on the bench notwithstanding that he had been rescued from arrest; refusal to obey the sheriff (William William of Cochwillan); assaulting the sheriff, and threatening to put him to death. William Maurice avers that the writ was made out for the arresting of William Morrice, of Porkington, Shropshire, his son..
