Short Title: Farnaby v Kendall. [Cause code: SCEL-09242].

Plaintiffs: Henry Farnaby of Lostwithiel.

Defendants: Walter Kendall esq, John Hellyer of Lostwithiel, William Kendall gent of Lostwithiel, Thomas Hellyer gent of Lostwithiel, Thomas Polson, George Mudge, Thomas Mayde, John Wyllyams, Thomas Allnett and John Saunders.

County: Cornwall.

Subject: assault on the plaintiff at Lostwithiel during his resistance to arrest by Mayde, Williams and Allnett, on a special warrant from the sheriff at the suit of Walter Kendall, during which he was hurt in the head.

Kesselring (List and Index Society, Special Series 57, 2018): [294] Farnaby, plaintiff; Killegrew et al: convicted for arresting the plaintiff by process out of the Stannary at which time about to serve process on them out of this court, for setting him bare ridged on a lame, geld horse, not suffering him to alight to ease himself, so carried him to prison 16 miles off through market towns in despiteful manner, committed and fined at £10 apiece. Michaelmas 25 and 26 Elizabeth fo. 294 [note: folio references are to the lost Star Chamber decree and order entry books].
