Coal was a National Coal Board magazine published monthly between 1947 and 1961. Although issued free to employees, it could also be purchased. It included articles and photographs by management and miners as well as advertisements. Coal News was a direct continuation from Coal but differed in two ways; it was a newspaper as opposed to a magazine and published both national and regional issues. It continued to be published until the mid-1990's.
