UKUSA Sigint relations: GCCS Civil Section monthly report for May 1942 with sections on Washington and New York liaison; GCCS evaluation of US HCM cypher machine, June 4; Signal from AGD refuting claims made in North America and relayed back by Capt Sandwith that there was duplication of Sigint material from cable censorship in UK and North America, June 5; letter from Capt Hastings in Washington to AGD on personal and operational matters, June 11; UK instruction to Cs-in-C for handling of both UK and US sigint reports as prelude to similar instructions to US Service Chiefs, June 16; signal to C, probably from Capt Hastings in Washington, certain Sigint reports to be shown to Canadian PM, June 20; order from C-in-C US Navy to USN Cs-in-C on handling of Sigint, June 22; report from AGD to C on current status of UKUSA liaison on diplomatic Sigint, June 22; minutes of 13th meeting of Washington Comms Board Sub-committee on Codes and Cyphers, held in US Navy Department, July 1; AGD to C with June Summary of Special Occurrences in GCCS Civil Section, including liaison developments with Washington and Ottawa, July 1; letter from AGD to Capt Hastings in Washington, July 2; Admiralty concern at US press articles compromising US Sigint capability, July 7; minutes of first meeting of London Comms Committee Sub-committee G (Codes and Cyphers), discussing provision of codes and cyphers for combined UKUSA use for inter-Service purposes, July 9; assessment by AGD's Civil Section of US Sigint capabilities, July 22-27; letter from Capt G Stevens, UK representative recently arrived in US Sigint organisation, to Lt Col JH Tiltman, giving details of the organisation and current progress on various Sigint problems
