AGD requests annual work reports for 1940 from all main GCCS sections; security rules for private correspondence at BP; security of source CX/BQ, E reports; main invasion threat over, no need for GCCS BQ mobile column but replacement buses needed for daily movement of staff; Colonel JH Tiltman's proposals to Colonel Butler of MI-8 for grading the work of 4 IS, accompanied by listing of all 4 IS staff; Nigel de Grey, Head of Hut 3A, argues case for continuing longer term research and reporting in 3A as opposed to leaving it in hands of Ministries in London; preparations for visit to BP by senior US military delegation; HAS gives AS prospects to AM for 1941, also argues case for commissioning certain of his staff; MI-14 visits to Hut 3: Sigint liaison with Canada, Greeks, Finns and Poles, Polish Sigint station set up at Stanmore to intercept Russian communications, search continues for radio sets sent to Finns; instructions for transmitting Sigint traffic; paper by DNI, Rear Admiral JH Godfrey, giving list of cover terms to avoid compromising Sigint; inaugural meeting of GAY Committee, under chairmanship of Lord Hankey, held at the office of the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and formed to study unusual GAF DF activity, particularly on BBC transmissions; correspondence with Colonel F Jacob, Director of CBME, personality conflicts in Cairo RAF Comcen
