Congratulatory letter to GCCS via C from Director of Intelligence (D of I) on success of action-on operations; need for more Bombes to process E; AGD's spirited reply to YC paper with strong Services input, on future of UK Sigint; memo from EW Travis (EWT) Deputy Head GCCS, to AGD on proposals for setting up central office at BP for all Sigint communications channels; continuing staff problems in AS, HAS Cooper appeals to AGD and AM, Head of Met Party, Dr GC McVittie, reports on staff problems in his part of AS; AGD's support for Oliver Strachey, Head of Hut 8, who had apparently led organised protest against some aspect of work and/or conditions at BP, pleads case should not be taken to C; initial feelers put out by UK for UKUSA Sigint exchange, UK cautious, US desires full exchange; AGD's paper on re-stablishing Sigint relationship with Bertie's Sigint organisation in occupied France, asks C for safeguards; AGD's memo to Col Butler of MI-8 suggesting move of Army short-term traffic analysis research party from Harpendon to BP; UK broadcasts of disinformation on German communications networks; intercept site to be set up in Stanmore area for Poles to intercept Russian communications and carry out full exchange with GCCS on Russian tasks; support from BTM, GCCS requirement for 50-60 Spiders; investigation into Sigint equipment apparently lost while en route to Finland; paper on GAF Knickerbein beacon navigational bombing system; cypher support for General de Gaulle; suggested new cypher systems sent to Lt Col Tiltman for evaluation by Lt T Norman, Royal Engineers, and by Mr John S Wright; build up of CBME, correspondence with GCCS, Major Jacobs promoted to Lt Col and appointed as Director CBME
