This series contains a small selection of estimates of value submitted by individual colliery companies in connection with their claims for compensation for assets transferred under the Coal Industry Nationalisation Act 1946.
The former references are Compensation Unit registration numbers in the form 'AA/xxx/Z', where AA is the mining area, eg YK for Yorkshire, xxx is a reference number for the colliery and Z is either A, B, C, D, E or F depending on the assets being valued.
