Two warrants to the collectors of subsidies exempting the heralds from payment of taxes. The first warrant exempts the named heralds from contributing to the first of the three subsidies granted in 1597. The second warrant grants the named heralds an exemption from the second of the two subsidies granted to Elizabeth I in 1591. Both are endorsed with notes of their delivery into the Exchequer. The second, earlier document was transferred to this piece from E 178/3181 at some point before 1912.
