Description

Factories; Poor Law and Paupers.

Two letters, both with enclosures concerning providing aid to paupers in Buckinghamshire.

The first letter is from William Long at the Eton Petty Session House, to Horatio Waddington, and encloses a copy of complaints against the guardians of the Eton Poor Law Union, Buckinghamshire, for refusing to grant relief to able-bodied paupers.

The second letter from W G Lumley, Assistant Secretary to the Poor Law Board, to Horatio Waddington, enclosing a copy of a report by C P Barrett on the alleged refusal of relief by the Eton guardians to the casual poor.
