A letter from Fitzroy Somerset of the Horse Guards transmitting a copy of a letter from Henry Riddell, Major General Commanding the Troops in North Britain, relating to accommodation being provided in Edinburgh Castle for enrolled pensioners when called out in aid of civil powers.
A letter from G Butler, Assistant Secretary of the Ordnance Office, stating that it is not possible to provide a considerable amount of accommodation at Edinburgh Castle.
