Three letters concerning the arrest of an Irishman named Cavanagh. A letter from the Foreign Office, transmitting a despatch from G W Featherstonhaugh, Consul at Havre [Le Havre, France], regarding the arrest of Cavanagh, a reported rebel, escaped from Ireland and requesting information as to what he should do in this matter.
A letter from T N Redington at Dublin Castle, stating that the man arrested at Havre is an Irish rebel called Cavanagh and that a Dublin policeman, named John Fagan, who is to report himself to Colonel Rowan, will be sent after him.
A second letter from the Foreign Office transmitting a despatch from Featherstonhaugh, stating that Cavanagh is in Havre and Fagan has not yet arrived, so Cavanagh will be sent aboard a steamer to Southampton and that the mayor should arrest him upon arrival.
