Description

Ireland; Arrest; Foreign; Prisons and Prisoners.

Two letters from the Foreign Office concerning the arrest of Americans in Ireland. A letter forwarding two letters from [George Bancroft], United States Minister, requesting information as to orders issued by the head of the constabulary in Dublin for the arrest of Richard F Ryan, an American citizen [letters not enclosed].

A second letter transmitting a despatch from Crampton, Chargé d'Affaires at Washington, regarding the case of Ryan [despatch not enclosed].
