Grant by Leonard Shaw, master of the confraternity or gild of St. Christopher and St. George, the Martyrs, in the city of York, and the wardens, brethren and sisters of the same, to Henry Mason, for his good counsel and service, of the office of clerk of the gild, for life, by himself or deputy, with the fee of 5l. and a cloak (tunica), price 6s. 8d. yearly, with leave to distrain on their land, etc. in the said city. Yorkshire. At York, in the council chamber within the Gild Hall (in camera concclii infra Guyldam Aulam), 16 July, 23 Henry VIII. At foot, 4l. allowed in full with arrears from Easter, 2 Edward VI.
