Feoffment by Bernard le Waleys (Bernardus Walencius) of Tranemul, to William de Prenton of a moiety of all the land which Philip de Tranemul formerly held of his demesne, with the whole messuage and garden and with the whole toft and croft to the same messuage belonging, and a fishery in Merse, with a decoy (uno volet') in the wood of Tranemul to the said land belonging, and a fishery which William son of Nel formerly held, and two parts of the site (loci) of a fishery between the fishery of Ronul' de Prenton and the sea, etc.; rent, 1d. at Michaelmas for all service; also grant to him of 'housbold' and 'eybold,' and necessaries for building his fisheries (ad piscaria sua edificanda) from the wood of Tranemul, and wood for his fire within Tranemul, without the inspection (risu) of lord or forester; also grant of mast (pessonam) in the same wood for twenty-six pigs without pannage, wherever they may be fed; also grant that whoever holds that land shall be quit of his court. Witnesses, Robert de Pulle, Philip Benvile, Henry de Bechintun, William de Hotun, Hugh de Raby, and others (named). Cheshire.
