Description

Grant by Gervase de Corhell' to God and Christ Church, London, and the canons there, of all his land of Berchendena, which he held of Hubert the Chamberlain (Cam') and his son Richard of the fee of earl Eustace, as fully and entirely as he held it for a day and a night; this he did by the advice and consent of his wife, his heirs and his friends for love of God, etc; for this prior Ralph and the canons gave him 80 marks. Witnesses: Richard de Anesti, Alan, the knight, Robert, the clerk, his brother, Alan, brother of Gervase and William de Blemund, John son of Ralph, Ralph, his son, Robert 'bello,' Robert de Corhell, David, his brother, William, the alderman, Vitalis, the clerk, Jordan son of Algod, William Facetus, Seno, the priest (Senone pr'b'o), William and Robert and Edward, servants of the church. Hertfordshire. Endorsed: Carta Gervasii de Cornilla de Bercedena; Berkedena.
