Counterpart of an agreement made the feast of the Apostles Philip and James, 1273, between Adam de Stratton and Sir James, son and heir of Ralph Russel, whereby the said Adam grants to the said James and his heirs all his lands and tenements in Wynterburn, Bochampton, and Swanewych, with the advowson of the church of Wynterburn, etc. at a rent, to the said Adam and his heirs, of 10 marks within the quinzaine of St. Michael, payable in the house of the said Adam at London, in the parish of St. Sepulchre without Neugate; for this James gave Adam all his lands and tenements in Upton, Berkshire, in exchange; James charges all his lands with the payment of the said rent. Witnesses: Sir Hugh Poynz, Sir Ingram le Waleys, Sir John de Whytefeud, Sir Henry de Cokinton, knights, Geoffrey de Anne, John Skybard, Ralph Russel, John le Fleming. Done at London, the said day and year. [Dorset] Berkshire.
