Indenture of demise made at Preston, Sunday, the morrow of Michaelmas, 26 Edward III, by Sir William de Clynton, earl of Huntyngdon, to William Bakere, of Hothfelde, of the manor of Cologhbrugge, for ten years, with a bull and forty cows as in schedule annexed, at 20l. rent payable at his manor of Preston. The schedule, indented, of even date, witnesses that John Colure, by the earl's assignment, delivered to William Bakere a bull, price 10s., and 34 cows, price 10s. each, which the said earl had by the gift of Sir Henry, rector of Asshatesford, and which were appraised by the tenants of the manor. Kent. Memorandum endorsed on schedule that the payment of rent at Colubregg yearly is 31s. 5d. viz. at the court of Cherrynge at St. Thomas Apostle and Christmas, 2s. 10d.; at Mid Lent and Easter, 4s. 3½d.; at Midsummer and Lammas (St. Peter's Chains) 20½d; at Michaelmas 3s. 7½d.; also by John de Brokkescombe for land 'ate Lee,' 9d.; at the court of Buggelee, 12s. 7½d.; at the court of Chileham, 2s. 2d.; at the court of Childeston, 3s. 5d. Also memorandum, endorsed on indenture, of rent of assise. Seal of arms (Clinton).
