Indenture of demise by Richard Tole of Coventry to Nicholas Skathelok of Coventry, fishmonger (piscarium) and Felicia his wife, for the term of their lives, of two messuages in Coventry, one in Cross Street (vico crucis) between the tenements of John Luyk and Edward le Taillour, extending from the said street to the land of the gild of St John the Baptist of Coventre, and the other in Waste Garden (wasto gardino) between the tenements formerly Alan Skathelok's and Robert Chilterne's; rendering therefor yearly from the feast of St Michael the Archangel then next for the first thirty-two years 56s. and to the heirs of John de Franketon of Coventry 4s. and to the prior and convent of Coventre 13d. and keeping the said messuages in good repair, and after the said term of thirty-two years if they survive and wish to continue their tenancy they shall render therefor yearly 100s.; if they died within the said term their heirs and assigns to hold the messuages for the remainder of it. Witnesses:— Henry Clerk then Mayor of Coventre, Richard Butter and John Swyneshed, bailiffs, John Luyk and others (named). Memorandum endorsed that on Saturday the eve of the Assumption, 13 Richard II. the within named Felicia after her husband's decease released her right in the within mentioned messuages to Richard de Teynton and Joan his wife, John de Boseworth, William de Bekynton and Robert de Schipeleie and Margaret his wife; witnesses:—the mayor of Coventry and others. Warwickshire. Coventre, Tuesday after the Nativity of St John the Baptist, 37 Edward III.
