Indenture between John Harald, esquire, and John Basyng, citizen of London, and burgess of Calais, reciting that the said Basyng had granted to the said Harald a void plot of land, two parts of which he had purchased from John Newerk and others, and the third part came to him by inheritance; and that the said plot was said to be charged with [finding] two guards (gaitez) and 3s. 8d. yearly; covenant by Basyng to deliver the charters of the two parts and as to the said third part to search the books of the treasurer and should it be found that the said plot was overcharged, the said Harald should pay less, and the said Basyng should repay him that which he had paid beyond the amount due since receiving seisin of the said plot. Calais. Last day of April, 19 Richard II.
