Grant by Robert son of Sir Hervy de Stafford, to John Mattoc, of land of the grantor's wood within his manor of Maddeley, reserving the oaks; viz. from Brocholebeche to the boundary of Holedene, and from Holedene to 'le Bochemor,' etc. to hold as the other free tenants of the said manor, but without leave to alienate it. Witnesses:- Master Robert, archdeacon of Stafford, Richard de Hecstall, and others (named). Endorsed: 'Mattockesfeld.' Staffordshire.
