Description

Demise by John Barnardiston, gentleman, at the request as well of Martha Calforde daughter and heiress of Giles Calforde of Rayley, deceased, as of Thomas Thrustell, her grandfather, to Nicholas Broadwater, John Fuller, and John Collen, of a messuage and garden called 'Whatemans' alias 'Watmans' in Rayley, formerly belonging to the said Giles and which the said John Barnardiston lately recovered, by writ of right, against the said Martha in the court of Henry lord Hunsdon's manor of Rayley; to hold to the use of the said Thomas and Joan his wife for their lives, for the support and education of the said Martha, with remainder to the use of Mark Thrustell, Martha's uncle, with remainder, after Martha's death, to her heirs in tail, and in default of such issue to the right heirs of the said Thomas: Essex. Endorsed: Name of witness to delivery of seisin. 4 Jan, 23 Elizabeth I
