Description

Bond by John Chyshull of Thaksted, co. Essex, gentleman, son and heir apparent of William Chyshull, esquire, and Alice his wife, to William Cowper, clerk, William Bedell and Richard Rokeby, esquires, for 40l: Herts. Middx. Underwritten: Condition of the above bond, witnessing that if the above-mentioned William Chyshull and Alice his wife and the above bound John Chyshull, shall suffer all the necessary steps to be taken for assuring to Thomas, cardinal archbishop of York and chancellor of England, all such lands etc as after the death of John Welshe, late of Chestehunte, co. Herts, esquire, came to the said William and Alice in the counties named, or in London, and which have been sold by the said Alice and John her son, to the said Cowper, Bedell, and Rokeby, to the use of the said archbishop, then the above bond shall be void. 10 July, 9 Henry VIII.
