Description

Grant by Richard the abbot, and the convent of St. Peter's, Salop (Shrewsbury), to John Lye, for his life, of the office of porter of the abbey, after the death or surrender of John Harrys, with a daily allowance of one white loaf called 'le myche', and one black one called 'le browne looff', a gallon of ale and one penny 'pro coquina sua' or the pastures which the said John Harrys lately had, in lieu of the said daily penny, also 26s. 8d. yearly, and one robe when such is given to the other servants etc [Salop.]. 22 October, A. D. 1505. 21 Henry VII.
