Description

Grant by the king, to the nuns of St. Mary's, Wikes, of a fair to be held yearly at Michaelmas fo three days, and confirmation of all grants to them by Henry II, with further grant of freedom fro all pleas and suits etc in the king's land. Witnesses:- Baldwin, archbishop of Canterbury, William, archbishop of Rouen, H(ugh), bishop of Durham, H(ubert), bishop of Salisbury, J(ohn), bishop of Norwich, G(ilbert), bishop of Rochester, and others (named). Given by the hand of William de Longo Campo (Longchamp), elect of Ely, the chancellor. Essex. Canterbury, 28 November, 1 Richard I
