Description

Grant by Edelyna Merss, to the monks of St. Pancras, Lewes, of a messuage in the Westport, for the maintenance of one wax candle before the cross in their great church, for which Godfrey de Tonebregge, the warden of the said candle (custos predicti cerei), has given her half a mark. Witnesses:- Nicholas Casel, Robert le Haftere, Alvred de Sartria, and others (named) Sussex.
