Description

Grant by Stephen de Eldinge, hurer, citizen of London, to the canons of Holy Trinity, London, in frank almoin, of an annual rent of 8s. issuing from a whole tenement in Chikenelane and in the churchyard of All Hallows of Berkingecherche, of the fee of the abbey of Waltham Holy Cross, which he had be grant of Peter le Maltmetere and Agnes his wife. Witnesses:- Gregory de Rokesle, Mayor of London, William Mazerer and Robert de Basinges, sheriffs, William de Hadestok, alderman of the ward, and others (named). (7 Edward 1. ) Endorsed: Memorandum that the feoffment of Stephen de Eldinge was read and enrolled on the Husting, Monday the morrow of the Invention of Holy Cross, 55 Henry III., because the right of this tenement proceeded from Agnes, wife of Peter le Maltmetere, and she herself was there and made oath and acknowledged, etc Middx.
