Description

Grant by John Chaucer, citizen and vinter of London, and Agnes his wife, to Simon de Plaghe, and Joan his wife, of the above tenement with two shops, etc, in Algatestrete, London, St. Botolph's parish, which formerly belonged to Hamo de Copton, uncle of the said Agnes, to whom it descended on Hamo's death. Adam Fraunceys, then Mayor of London, John Lytle and William de Welde, sheriffs, Richard de Berkyng, alderman of that ward. Endorsed:"These nine charters (E 40/1595-1603) relate to a tenement in Algatestrete without Algate, London, in which Nicholas Sylvester, butcher, now lives, etc " These deeds are all endorsed as enrolled in the Hustings of London. Thursday, 3 April, 28 Edward III
