Indenture between Thomas, abbot of Ramsey, and the convent there, and Dame Sybil, late wife of Sir Thomas de Dale, knt., touching the manor of Berkeford, called 'Dalys,' otherwise 'Leyham,' which Thomas, son and heir of the above Thomas, lately held of the abbey, and left to Sybil for her life, with reversion to himself and his heirs, and afterwards died, leaving a son and heir Thomas within age, whose wardship and marriage belong to the abbey; by whom they are hereby granted to Sybil for 100 marks, to be paid in the course of the next 20 years, upon conditions and covenants hereinafter specified.
