Elgin to Ho Kuei-ch'ing and Chao Te-ch'e. Returns herewith their joint despatch of 21 Mar 1858 in which they transmitted Wen-hsiang's reply, as such reply is unacceptable. Requests that enclosed despatch to [Yü-ch'eng] be forwarded to Peking.
