Prefect Hsiung of Taiwan to Chads. Was preparing to deliver remaining nine British soldiers to Chinese authorities in Amoy when Chads' deputies came to demand them on 10 October. Cannot hand them over for lack of Chinese authorization. Ship was in fact sunk in action and not wrecked by storm.
