Description

Lin Tse-hsü et al. to C. Elliot. While opium was being surrendered, requested Emperor to pardon British opium dealers and to reward them with tea. Request was granted by Emperor and now that all 20,283 chests of opium are surrendered, will reward them with 1,640 chests of tea. Praise Elliot for having acted in interests of foreign merchants.
