Chu-erh-hang-a to C. Elliot. Transmits edict by Lin Tse-hsü and Teng T'ing-cheng: foreign vessel Chia-li-yin claims that it has transferred its opium cargo to another vessel for surrender at Hu-men; require Elliot to report on opium still on board Chia-li-yin, or name of ship on which opium has been transferred and amount of opium subsequently surrendered at Hu-men.
