Description

The papers of Mrs Racheal Frances Antonia Lee, the self-styled Baroness le Despenser who wrote under the nom-de-plume of 'Philopatria' (c. 1774-1829). (TS 11/227-302). Diary pages; sundry notes on inter alia biblical studies, "American War and the preceeding circumstances", "Notes on Geneva", Roman morality, criminal law, "Remarks on a Will said to have been that of Francis Dashwood Esqur", "Observations on the Latin Tongue", "Of Greek Historians"; essays, "The Earliest State of Greece", "The Roman History". (In three parts, part 1 refers to 1828-1829, part 2 refers to 1815-1821, and part 3 refers to 1815-1821)
