Letters, papers and newspaper cuttings relating to the expeditions of D'Urville and Wilkes and their relationship to the Ross expedition. Letter to Ross from Wilkes on USS Vincennes (1840) and copy of Wilkes' letter to the Editor of "The Union" (1847).
