TSGS 2084, 'Lagos and Southern Nigeria', overprinted in red to become TSGS 2183, 'Index to the 1/250,000 survey of Lagos and Southern Nigeria'; sheetlines and sheet numbers of the 1:250,000 survey [TSGS 1764] also overprinted in red.
TSGS 2084 was compiled from sheets 61, 73 and 74 of the map of Africa at 1:1,000,000 [IDWO/TSGS 1539], and shows terrain, waterways, roads, railways, telegraphs, boundaries, place names etc. Key to conventional signs. A note states, 'No portion of the country included in this sheet has been accurately surveyed and the positions of villages, rivers and hills are only approximate.' Compiled in the Topographical Section, General Staff, 1905. Overprinted 1906. Annotated in red ink: 'Rough proof 2183'.
